The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.
SASSA will be rendering services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency stated it is alarmed about the significant amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area every day. The provider issue developed for intervention activities a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tricky with the Workplace to attend read more to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more sources to allow sassa status check the servicing of all buyers and enhance use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
